However she rarely had them, a few months ago she began having multiple seizure a day, and some of them were very bad. She was on 2 different anti-seizure meds and while they helps cut down how often she had them, she still had them, and due to the meds, she was a zombie most of the rest of the time... along with other old age issues... So I had to make a very hard quality of life decision... She is now happy in heaven, and will always be with me in my memories and my heart.

Shetland Sheepdog - 7/92 to 3/06

I would rather have loved, and have lost, then to never have loved at all.

CD

Wow, time flys then your having fun!

Eww... looks like 4 months have passed since my last post...

Our son:

And now for some stories:

At about 15 months:
He was carrying around 2 of his bath toys (one in each hand), he also had a thing for closing doors. He wanted to close the door to his bedroom, since his hands were full, he set the toys down and started to pull the door closed, the door stopped at the toys. Instead of just pulling harder, he pushed the door open, grabbed the 2 toys, and set them outside the door, then went back to pull the door closed! All I could think was “That’s my boy”!

About 18 months:
My son was watching the dogs drink their water, he walked up to the water bowl, and bowed his head and licked the air… leaving my wife and I in stitch’s…

Around 19 months:
My father gave us a computer for my son, (I felt he was ready to start, my wife did not think he would be interested). Being a lover of computers I wanted to give my son an early start J
We got it setup, I sat my son on my lap and opened up the web sites for the shows he watches in the morning, to my delight, it loved it, and now insists on using the computer daily (sometimes multiple times a day).
The day after we got it setup, while I was at work, he grabbed my wife’s finger and pulled her over to the computer, pulled out the chair (an office chair on wheels), and pointed to the computer and said his version of up (ba). “That’s my boy”!

Another 19 month story:
My wife and son were out in the backyard enjoying the early-spring weather with our 2 dogs… They were doing their usual “rough” play. Apparently my son wanted to put a stop to it… he ran over to the dog and yelled, “no; down”

I can’t express how much fun it is to watch him learn about the world around us. It’s very fascinating to watch his study how something works, and then figure it out…

CD

I'm back!

Ok, I really have been so busy that I have not had a chance to post!

Our son is getting so big, I would rather spend time with my him and my wife then sit in my office and post a comment...

But since I am hoping to be able to look back at this one day and "review" what I have forgotten, I better get in the habit of posting...

Yesterday the wife and I got to go out for "lunch and a movie", for the first time in like 6 Months! It was not as strange as the first time:

"For our anniversary (2 year), my wife's Mother and Step-Dad came over and babysat our son for the first time so that we could go out. WOW did that feel strange, it felt so good to "lift" the weight of being parents for a few hours. We went and saw Star Wars III (we both love sci-fi). However as soon as the movie was over, we had an urgent need to "rush" back home to see if our son was ok. Of course he was sound asleep..."

Ok, back to today...

Since my last posting we have had a number of "life changing events".

1st, The oldest brother-in-law (and his girlfriend) is going to loose their parental rights from the courts, and they have asked us to adopt her. At first I was like, "no way it's his problem" for about 1/2 a second, but then knowing that it is the right thing to do, keeping her with family...
So, since we are family we will most likely have no problem getting her, as there is no other family that wants her, and the State we live in almost always tries to place the child with family.
The problem is she is over 2 hours away, so it's not easy to visit her. And the social worker seems to be very disorganized and so it has been very hard to get her on the phone or even call us back.

2nd, Shortly after saying yes we will adopt her, we discovered that my Wife is now pregnet with out 2nd... Oh boy... 3 kids under the age of 2, god has it in for us.
Even though so many people tell us what great parents we are, the thought of 3 kids in dipers in a little overwelming, but, it's not like we are the first... and since we believe that god would not give us more then we can handel (we hope), we will do our best!

Because of the new arrival family members, we realise that we would not be able to make 3 car seats fit into my wifes current car, so we got a new one... 2006 Ford Freestyle SEL (with a DVD entertainment system). So far we really like it, and the payment is less then her old car (but it is a lease, so no new car for me anytime soon)... :(

Personal Information

Due to the growing problem with Idenity Theft, I will not be sharing much personal information, and will be very limited in what I share about others as well.
